Job Description

Working within the Highways Infrastructure Team you will be required to:
- Manage a workload of engineering projects to budgets, in compliance with client requirements, health & Safety and national legislation.
- To provide these services on time to budget and to specification.
- Production of reports at all stages of the projects identifying a wide range of implications for the project including site inspections at initial stages and throughout the construction, controlling specifications and quality of workmanship.
- Production of cost estimates for clients involving construction costs, fees and disbursements, monitoring these costs throughout the projects and reporting on meeting budgets.
-Check accounts and authorise payments for construction works in accordance with the contract documents.
- Produce engineering design drawings to a standard required for contractors to price the works, including organisations of topographical and soil surveys.
- Undertake detailed consultation with a wide range of organisations such as Police, Motoring organisations, local groups and general public in respect of highway related issued and provided support in the organisation and running of public meetings.
- Be knowledgeable in and ensure that all operatives are fully aware of health & safety procedures, responsibility and risk management requirements in respect of their operational activities including compliance with CDM regulations for construction works.
- Prepare all contract documentation for projects to be costed under a tendering process and be competent in the counts constitution and the Institute of Civil Engineers on contract procedures.
- Preparation of technical reports, appraisals, and studies for a full range of projects, including the Council meetings as required.

You should have an Engineering degree or equivalent and 5 years experience. You should also have experience in Autocad, Word, Access, Excel and Project and other specialist software.
