Working for a large multi national consultancy, in the design office in the city of London.

This role is based within the highways and transportation division managing the highways aspects for a range of projects for both highways agency clients and local authority.

Responsbility

Reporting to a Senior Engineer you will provide support within a team of engineers and technicians in delivering highway design solutions. This will involve the preparation of reports, designs, specifications and contract documents.

You must be a technically proficient highway design engineer, providing guidance and mentoring to less experienced members of the team. You will liase with other engineers to ensure that updates to technical standards etc are circulated to the team.

You will assist the Senior Engineer in ensuring that the design brief is competed satisfactory. From time to time you will be expected to deputise for the Senior Engineer.

Requirements

• Degree in civil engineering.
  
• At least 5 years relevant experience since graduation.
  
• Experience in highways design including drainage design.
  
• Working knowledge of highway agency procedures and/or standards particularly DMRB and MCDHW as well as Health & Safety legislation, particularly the CDM regulations.
  
• Experience in using MS, MicroDrainage & AutoCAD.
  
• Experience in highway maintenance.
