Job Description

Candidates are required to hold a clear enhanced CRB, references covering the last 5 years and a full CV covering and explaining any gaps in your employment history and also having the reasons for leaving previous posts.

• Possession of a recognised Social Work qualification CQSW, CSS, DipSW or equivalent
• Any post qualifying award (PQI or II)
• Must be registered with the GSCC
• Extensive experience of social work in local government, the voluntary or independent sector.
• Substantial experience of working with relevant client groups, especially those from different racial & cultural backgrounds.
• Experience of supervising students
• Ability to resolve contentious issues by negotiation
• Ability to initiate, draft & produce reports.
• Ability to deal with / record casework, communicate effectively with client groups & professionals in order to assess client needs.
• Ability to attend & organise case conferences & reviews for the purpose of assessing & monitoring the development of service users.
• Ability to develop person-centred care plans.
• Ability to deal with conflict and complaints.
• Ability to participate within a duty team framework.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant statutory social work legislation.
• Knowledge of the issues relating to the well-being of service users covering a wide range of clients.

Candidates need to be registered with the General Social Care Council.
