Job Description

Our Client is a registered residential care provider currently operating 11 residential units in London and Essex (9 male units and 2 female units ) providing high end care and support for adults aged 18-65 years, predominantly with a forensic background but also with learning disabilities + substance/alcohol abuse.



Service users are typically received from prisons and high or medium secure hospitals. Our Client's purpose in each of it's Homes is to create a stable, therapeutic environment as the springboard for each individualÂ’s recovery programme.



Reporting to the CEO, the Operations Director is responsible for the 24/7 operational performance and sound management of all Homes within the Group. Our Client is an expanding organisation actively pursing plans to open further units in London and the South East. The Operations Director has a key role in making new acquisitions fit for purpose and managing the registration process, thereafter supervising opening programmes to agreed schedules.



This is a challenging and demanding appointment in which the incumbent will be required to demonstrate firm leadership, whilst providing full guidance and support to Homes Managers and their teams in sometimes stressful work situations

In terms of qualifications and experience eligible candidates will need to demonstrate:-



i. A degree or degree-level qualification ideally in:-

· Nursing (either RGN or RMN)

· Care Management

· Social Work



ii. A minimum of 10 years experience in the care sector, including 3-5 years experience

in a management role leading operations ideally within a multi-site organisation.



iii. Experience of working with persons with challenging behaviour, diagnosed variously with:-

· Mild to severe depression

· Schizophrenia

· Bi-polar disorders

· Mild to moderate learning disabilities

· Personality disorders

· Drug addiction/substance abuse



iv. A full understanding of the Care Standards Act 2000, and working knowledge

of the 1983 Mental Health Act. Experience of dealing with regulatory authorities, especially CSCI, is essential.



v. Good knowledge of employment law and dispute/grievance management processes.



vi. First class administration/financial management/IT skills.



vii. Proven track in facilities management and Homes maintenance. Good project management capabilities in driving business initiatives and opening new units.
