Job Description

BASIC OBJECTIVES

To provide a high quality and best value service for young people who are “looked after”.

To represent the Council within the Court process and other external forums.

To ensure that Children and Young People’s needs are fully assessed and met , as set out in their care plan, that children in the care of the council have high quality care plans that have permanency arrangements clearly set out with timescales that meet the child’s needs.

To ensure that the service is responsive to the needs of all communities within the council and is in keeping with Council’s Equalities Policies.

To offer professional and consistent leadership to a team social workers and social work assistants in order to ensure performance management targets are met and outcomes for young people are improved.

Candidates are required to hold a clear enhanced CRB, references covering the last 5 years and a full CV covering and explaining any gaps in your employment history and also having the reasons for leaving previous posts.

Candidates need to be registered with the General Social Care Council.
