Job Description
To provide a high quality and best value service for young people who are “looked after”.
To represent the borough within the Court process and other external forums.
To ensure that Children and Young People’s needs are fully assessed and met , as set out in their care plan, that children in the care of the council have high quality care plans that have permanency arrangements clearly set out with timescales that meet the child’s needs.
MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To manage and supervise a team of social workers and associated staff.
To manage team workload in line with eligibility criteria, departmental policies and procedures and report on same.
To monitor, evaluate and develop the service provided by the team, ensuring the service is in line with departmental policy, standards, practise and priorities.
To initiate and chair inter agency meetings, in respect of particular clients and monitor performance of agreed tasks for all participants.
To ensure that all electronic record keeping is maintained in line with good practise and departmental standards.
Candidates are required to hold a clear enhanced CRB, references covering the last 5 years and a full CV covering and explaining any gaps in your employment history and also having the reasons for leaving previous posts.
Candidates need to be registered with the General Social Care Council.
