Job Description

To lead and manage a team including social workers, social work assistants and occupational therapists within the Borough.

The service is provided to children with a disability and their families.

Services include assessment, provision of packages of care and arrangements for transition to adulthood

Work within the Neighbourhoods, Communities and Children’s Services and across the Council to achieve results.

To be responsible for the resources within their service area and to ensure optimum distribution within the district as a whole.

To ensure that the relevant legislation underpins and informs practice and service delivery and to implement care management and assessment principles as appropriate.

To ensure that new legislation and initiatives for Children in Need/Children in Need of protection are successfully implemented

Work collaboratively across the Council, forging links with other services to ensure a consistent, community focused approach to Council services.

Candidates are required to hold a clear enhanced CRB, references covering the last 5 years and a full CV covering and explaining any gaps in your employment history and also having the reasons for leaving previous posts.

Candidates need to be registered with the General Social Care Council.
