Senior Site Engineer - Highways
Highway Schemes – Bedfordshire

The Senior Site Engineer will report to the Section Engineer and Site Foreman and will be involved in the day to day supervision of construction activities on site. This role requires someone who will be confident enough to deal with issues straight away and act in a timely manor. The site engineer will be reviewing drawings and specifications and passing information to the workforce. The Site engineer should be aware of Traffic Management and Health and Safety issues and may be required to communicate Method Statements and Risk Assessments to the workforce. Some setting-out may be required.

Role Description

The Senior Site Engineer will be responsible for day to day site activities, including;
•Re-Surfacing
•Structural Repairs to Bridge decks
•Bridge edge beam and parapet reconstruction
•Highway Services (drainage, communications, lighting etc)
Possible day and night working
May be required to supervise junior engineer and check their work

Required Experience
•HNC or HND in Civil Engineering (or equivalent Degree / Diploma)
•Experience on Highway construction or Maintenance
•Surfacing and Bridge Structure experience a definite advantage
•Other heavy civil engineering background would be considered.
