The Client:

You will be working for a leading International construction contractor for their South East England Regional Office.

The position:

The position is for an estimator to work under the Bid Manager to provide a professional and efficient estimating service for all projects tendered within the region. The role involves estimating and tendering for multiple heavy civil engineering projects.

Key responsibilities:

- Provide a professional approach to every stage of the tender process;
- Produce programmes to monitor the progress of the tenders and key dates;
- Ensure that every aspect of the price is evaluated from first principles;
- Check and confirm quantities being used are correct;
- Preparation of tender submissions;
- Work alongside senior staff, clients and joint venture partners as required.

The successful candidate will:

- Come from a civil engineer or quantity surveying background
- Have relevant experience in a similar role
- Have knowledge and interest in the tender process for civil engineering contracts
- Good awareness and knowledge of forms of contract and methods of measurement
- Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel
- Experience with CCS (Candy) and Microsoft Project would be an advantage
- Have good communication and presentation skills
