The Opportunity

Fantastic opportunity to join a leading construction services Plc with clients in the utility facilities management and rail sector. We are looking for an experienced design engineers with a particular emphasis on Rail.

The role

You will be responsible for the coordination and design of all temporary works so experience of the design phase from feasibility through to detailed design within Rail projects is paramount.
You will work on a diverse range of temporary works design including

•Excavation support for foundations and trenches
•Formwork & setting templates for reinforced concrete foundations
•Piling & Cranage platforms Access roads & traffic management Protective scaffolds for roads, railways & third party property
•Scaffolding design
•Hoarding and crash-deck design
•Temporary steelwork design for bridging and shoring
•Temporary highways and access roads

Experience of working with site and tender teams and input into method statements is essential as is the ability to advise on constructability of permanent works.

Candidate requirements

Relevant degree or equivalent
Chartered Civil or Structural Engineer
Considerable experience in the design and supervision of temporary works for civil engineering projects related to the rail industry

Desirable

Familiar with British standards for design, CDM and Network Rail Line & Group Standards
Previously accepted as Designer, Checker or CRE by Network rail
