Job Description

Our client is a high profile company looking to recruit someone to cover a maternity period. This person will need considerable knowledge of air quality, emissions, fuels and engine technologies and, ideally, a wider understanding of environmental management practices including energy, water, noise and waste management.

Your primary responsibility will be focused around the environmental performance of the London bus fleet, including requiring you to calculate current CO2 and air quality emissions of the different fleets, as well as future projections to show the impact of introducing new policies and technologies. Knowledge of emissions factors and emissions modelling is therefore essential. You will also be asked to manage or contribute to environment-based projects, which are likely to have you liaising with the GLA, suppliers and key internal and external stakeholders and will therefore require strong negotiation and decision making skills. It is imperative that you are able to work at the highest possible standard as on occasion you will be asked to provide written and oral technical advice to senior managers, press office, and London-based or national organisations including briefings, presentations and responses to the Mayor of London's questions and correspondence.

As the successfully individual you're likely to have a degree in Environmental Management or similar accompanied with an in-depth understanding of the sources, impacts and management of noise, energy, water and waste.
