Location: Abu Dhabi – UAE
Al Ain Hospital, a highly specialised acute care and emergency hospital with 412 beds and 30 medical departments and divisions, is one of the two major hospitals in the Al Ain region of the Emirate of Abu Dhabi belonging to the health system of the Abu Dhabi Health Services Company SEHA . The hospital provides a wide range of general and specialist clinical services. It is also the base for medical education, training and research for two teaching hospitals from Europe and the UAE.
On the basis of an agreement with SEHA, the leading European health specialists Vienna Medical University and VAMED have been managing Al Ain Hospital since June 2007.
The Role:
Responsible for coordinating and managing all purchasing activities relating to capital acquisitions for Al Ain Hospital
Essential duties
•Receive/review/reject/process approved capital requisitions.
•Develop source selection procedures for approved capital requisitions (collaborating with relevant departments as needed).
•Prepare and issue solicitation documentation to vendor(s).
•Receive, review, reject or process offers from vendor(s).
•Evaluate offers in collaboration with relevant departments and provide recommendations for award.
•Issue Purchase Orders and/or Contracts.
•Review and expedite all open purchase orders.
•Modify or cancel a purchase order, partially or totally, when requested by the Requesting Department or vendor.
•Maintain accurate records and documentation on all solicitations, responses, purchases, contracts, correspondence and related follow-up.
•Effectively manage the vendor base to maintain or promote competitive market environments for capital acquisitions.
•Serves in an advisory capacity to assist departments in obtaining specifications, substitute recommendations and approvals from the relevant departments.
•Performs other related work as required.

All duties must be completed in accordance with approved quality standards, policies, procedures and delegation of authority frameworks of facility and relevant UAE authorities.

Education
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university (business administration or procurement related field preferred)
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
•Good knowledge of business practices related to purchasing.
•2 years full time procurement experience preferred.
•Good knowledge of laws governing public procurement, including applicable rules and regulations.
•Good knowledge of contract law.
