Job Description

Construction Health & Safety Officer – Graduate / Trainee. Reporting to a Project Manager and a Senior Safety Manager you will ideally be a Health & Safety or Construction graduate seeking to develop your career in the construction industry, specialising in Health & Safety, preferably with some practical Construction site exposure.

This is a site based role where you will be able to take advantage of this successful company’s 40 plus years in construction, utilising their experience and track record on a wide range of commercial and residential projects to develop your Health & Safety profile for this division.

Based on tall multi-storey Residential RC frames projects in the Docklands area of London, you will be able to participate in high profile new build projects. This is a role where you will be given adequate assistance from the Company Safety Officer and the Contracts Manager to develop your skills and responsibility in the post. You will be expected to further your development by monitoring and checking the effectiveness and adherence of the company policies.

The Position offers an excellent opportunity to get “hands on” experience in the Health & Safety field. You must have enthusiasm for this type of role as you will be out on a working site and expected to make a valuable contribution to the project.

A Health & Safety or Construction related degree or similar tertiary qualification would be ideal, however a graduate who has taken safety related modules or a candidate with NEBOSH or similar would be welcome. Exposure to site based conditions would be advantageous as this will demonstrate that you are aware of the construction operations and procedures.

The salary of £23,000 may be negotiable if you have additional skills and will reflect your expertise and will be subject to review after a qualifying period.

You will need to have clear written and spoken English, and must be fully computer literate. This post will require you to take on the responsibility for further developing your own Health & Safety education and progression, making full use of the site facilities. A driving licence may be advantageous, but is not essential.

In order to be considered for this post you must be legally entitled to live and work in the UK.
