Job Description
The role of this post is to assist the Council's Planning Policy Team in the preparation of its Local Development Framework and in particular, the preparation of evidence base documents and meeting LDF monitoring requirements.
The role will include assisting in the Planning Policy Team in other LDF related work.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
Essential criteria:
•Town Planning degree, or other relevant degree plus Town Planning diploma
•Knowledge and understanding of planning practice, legislation and guidance
•Demonstrable and relevant experience of the main duties of this post as set out above
•Good IT skills (including MS Access and MS Excel)
Desirable criteria:
•Experience of a broad range of the following town planning activities:
-Policy evaluation, analysis and formulation
-Policy monitoring
-Preparation of supplementary planning documents, planning briefs
-Development control
This is an excellent opportunity for an initial 6 month contract which is likely to be extended. Both UK and Overseas Candidates from Planning policy backgrounds and who are familiar with working on LDF are encouraged to apply.
