Job Description

We're working with one of the leading engineering engineering consultancies in the UK. They're working on long term local authority highways maintenance contract from their office in the Docklands area of East London. They are looking to appoint an experienced highways maintenance supervisor to manage their maintenance activities.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
Highway inspections – carry out walked and driven surveys to planned routes using hand-held data capture, identify and record highway defects, specify remedial works by abbreviated schedule of rates for term maintenance contract repair, monitor and report survey completion against established routes and programme ;
· Supervision of maintenance contractors ;
· Supervision of routine landscaping maintenance
· Supervision of litter patrol ;
. Ensuring compliance with corporate systems and relevant health and safety legislation ;
· Ensure that target levels of client satisfaction are met with ;
· Other activities that are carried out in a busy routine highway maintenance office.

PERSON SPECIFICATION
Essential knowledge / experience:
· Experience in highway maintenance
· Clean UK driving licence

Desirable knowledge / experience:
· NVQ highway maintenance
· Working knowledge of NRSWA
· Experience of routine highway inspections
· Experience in supervision of contractors, including landscaping contractors
· Works instruction and defect identification
· Working on high speed roads
