Finishing / Snagging Foreman. Established Contractor requires a suitably experienced Finishing / Snagging Foreman to oversee the direct labour and sub-contractors working on two large projects that are ongoing in the Docklands area. The projects are at the RC frame stage and there will be 12 to 15 months work available on these schemes prior to moving on to further projects that are in the pipeline.

Working on multi-storey residential RC frames, your involvement will start as the RC frames are concreted and continue until the developments are handed over to the clients. You will be required to monitor the work of the subcontractors on the Windows, Cladding and Roofing packages, snagging their work to ensure that they comply with the required standards. These are long term / permanent positions and have come about through the contractor successfully negotiating work with the end clients / developers that allows them to forward plan for the next few years.

Your experience may show time spent on the tools, moving on to a charge hand’s role and then on to a Foreman’s role; alternatively the post may suit someone who has worked through a management role and is keen to have a site involvement where there is a need to produce quality finishes. A formal apprenticeship would be an advantage, but not essential. Practical experience in organising and supervising a number of trades, working on different floors and areas at all stages of the job will be essential.

Your role would be similar to an Assistant Site Manager’s post, but the emphasis would be on monitoring the practical work in the field, able to record daily events, labour allocations and similar events, whilst producing and checking snagging lists.

The Company is a reputable London based contractor that has steadily grown over the years working to maintain its reputation with both the clients and also their directly employed workforce.

The projects that the Contractor works on are mainly large residential schemes with mixed private and affordable housing with project values ranging from £14m to £35m plus.

The Rate will reflect your experience and will ensure that you are suitably rewarded for your efforts and workmanship. A self employed option may be available if relevant. References will also be required.
