Job Description

Qualified Social Worker required to work for to join an adults with learning disabilities team in Central London. This integrated, multi-disciplinary Service currently needs extra workers to cover newly created, permanent staff and to boost Social Work capacity during the introduction of new developments in this Social Work Team's working Practices and wider Departmental, strategic planning. Social Workers in the Service carry out care management responsibilities including assessment, service purchasing and monitoring and reviewing as well as leading Safeguarding investigations. Direct Payments and Supported Living are pursued as part of the Department's commitment to transforming the lives of people with learning disabilities. Social Workers also currently staff the Service Duty system, but this is due to be over-hauled by a stream-lined Access system, incorporating administrative staff.

This Qualified Social Worker position is to start ASAP and is for 3 months initially. You must be eligible to work in the UK, hold a Social Work Qualification, GSCC registered with a current CRB, driver preferred. Applicants must be appropriately qualified at interview, have post-qualifying experience and especially experience of working with people with learning disabilities. (Currently, experience of Duty systems would also be helpful).
