This new Plan needs to be prepared in accordance with national and regional planning guidance and reflect the aims and objectives of local strategies, such as the Community Strategy and the Core Planning Strategy DPD, and once adopted, the Town Centre Plan will define a vision and objectives for the growth and development of the town centre over the next 10-15 years.

The Town Centre Plan is at the early stages of development with the Issues & Options consultation document having been produced, and therefore a Policy Planner with similar experience of working on Area Action Plans and/or an Implementation background is required to take this project forward. Additionally, a strong commercial awareness is sort to fully consider the various impacts upon existing and proposed infrastructure and facilities.

This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in this key component of Policy development whilst it is at the initial stages. The contract is initially offered for 6months, though there is a large amount of work to be done with the post likely to be 12 – 18months in duration. A competitive hourly rate is also on offer for the successful candidate.
