Quantity Surveyor, Civils Term Maintenance. New position based out of Luton.
The Contractor is a multi-disciplinary infrastructure maintenance business working for both the Private and Public sectors. They have an in-house capability for civil engineering, surfacing, specialist surfaces, hard and soft landscaping, road marking, traffic management and cleansing, delivering the full infrastructure maintenance package to suit the most demanding client requirements. Currently turning over £40m annually they have secure work in the Term Maintenance sector.
The Position is a new one that has evolved as the Contractor grows this sector of the business. Part of an International Group, the Company benefits from the purchasing power of a large group whilst maintaining the individualism of a medium sized Civils Contractor. You will be expected to develop the Commercial strategy of this office that turns over £8.5m currently constituting 75% Term Maintenance and 25% priced work on jobs from £100k upwards.
Your Background will demonstrate a Commercial Awareness of the Civils industry with particular reference to the Term Maintenance area. This is a long term career position and the successful applicant must demonstrate a stable career to date and understand that the Contractor is seeking a candidate who wishes to help develop and grow the business in the Luton area.
Qualifications ideally to RICS level, but certainly to a tertiary level in Quantity Surveying are required, as is an ability to clearly communicate in written and oral matters, with good IT and reporting skills and clear Commercial awareness and strengths. You will work with the Company’s Commercial Director and the Contracts Managers in developing the existing business and increasing the Company profile.
