Job Description
The ideal candidate for this role will have appropriate amount of experience in environmental assessment (ideally including a post graduate qualification) which must include Environmental Impact Assessment experience for a regulatory organisation and/or experience of managing large EIAs.
Experience in EIA of one or more of the following areas required: waterside developments, flood defence schemes or strategies; water abstraction, discharge or resource management projects.
In addition, project management including the management of multifunctional teams of environmental specialists is required; experience of SEA, river morphology or habitat creation would also be advantageous.
The role will encompass project management, co-ordination and technical review of Environmental Impact Assessments and associated reporting as well as undertaking other environmental investigations and assessments. The role will include business development and project management as well as the development of more junior team members. The work will be varied in nature as well as EIA (regulatory and water-side developments), current projects including development of habitat creation sites (coastal and freshwater), investigating impacts of fluvial low flows and abstractions on fluvial ecology, assessing environment impacts of flood defences and sewerage infrastructure and development proposals, and developing strategies such as Water Level Management Plans, Catchment Flood Management Plans and other water management strategies.
