Job Description

My District Council client is seeking a professional Town Planner on a 3-6month contract. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your experience in a project management planning role.
The suitable candidate needs to be educated to degree level, in a related and have knowledge of land-use or transportation planning or policy development including:

A thorough understanding of the development plan process, legislative background and current practices;
A proven track record in developing innovative projects and strategic working;
Experience of project management and leadership in a related area, including staff supervision;
Experience of working with private, public and voluntary sector organisation and developing effective partnership arrangements;
And a clear understanding of the local government environment, political awareness and the major influences and challenges it faces.

In this challenging and rewarding role the successful candidate will be responsible for:
• Preparation and strategic implementation of the Regional Spatial Strategy and Sub-Regional Spatial Strategy.
• Preparation and production of the Minerals and Waste Development Framework.
• Supporting the preparation and production of Local Development Frameworks
