Job Description

Finishing Foremen, M/F x 2. To work on a major, high specification, new build re-development site in East London. There are 2 immediate requirements for very high calibre Finishing Foremen to join this developer/contractor working on a substantial scheme as it progresses to the fit out stage.

The Project. This is a major mixed use re-generation project that will see the construction of a luxury hotel, over 900 residential units for private and affordable housing, retail and commercial units, leisure/fitness centre, restaurant and bars. The entire complex will be set within landscaped gardens and squares. Travel links by rail to central London and the UK rail network are nearby as well as being convenient for City airport.

The Role. You must have considerable experience in working on high quality finishes on either hotels, substantial private residential, high specification commercial or leisure developments or alternatively have been involved in fitting out for cruise liners. Of major importance is the knowledge and experience gained from working either for a relevant contractor or subcontractor or supervising them if coming from a main contractor background. Your experience will have come from a good trades background, in a relevant discipline, ideally with City & Guilds qualifications, co-ordinating and supervising the activities of subcontractors and / or a direct labour force on a large scale scheme.

Background. A sound trades background, ideally with carpentry or finishing trades skills, City & Guilds certificates, (qualifications to a tertiary level may mean that you are also suited to a Site or Section Manager’s role and you should apply for tha position); evidence of working with and relevant qualifications to do with all aspects of finishing buildings to a high standard. Additionally current CSCS certification and proof of an up to date knowledge of materials and relevant Health & Safety legislation is advantageous. You will need to have good oral and written communication skills and be prepared to work a 6 day week on construction hours. You may currently be working as a Foreman or Supervisor and be seeking additional responsibility and career progression.

Salary. A package that includes a good basic of £45,000 plus a guaranteed performance bonus of 10% of salary and the usual benefits associated with a PAYE post for a reputable employer is on offer. You must be able to prove that you are legally entitled to live and work in the UK to be considered for the post.
