Trainee Health & Safety Manager. Principal Contractor requires a Health & Safety or Construction graduate. They are looking for a candidate who is keen to develop their career in the industry, specialising in Health & Safety. Preferably with some on site / practical Construction site exposure / exposure.

The Project is a new build multi-storey RC frame and it is just starting so you will be able to start at the beginning of a project that will run for over 2 years. The role will require you to oversee work with the frame contractor right through to the fit out and handover stage.

Based on a high profile new build project you will be given adequate assistance from the Company Safety Officer and the Contracts Manager to develop your skills and responsibility in the post. You will be expected to further your development by monitoring and checking the effectiveness and adherence of the company policies.

A Health & Safety or Construction related degree or similar tertiary qualification would be ideal, however a graduate who has taken safety related modules or a candidate with NEBOSH or similar would be welcome. Exposure to site based conditions would be advantageous as this will demonstrate that you are aware of the construction operations and procedures.

The Salary Package ranging from £23,000 to £25,000 will be negotiable if you have additional skills and will reflect your expertise and will be subject to review after a qualifying period.

You must have clear written and spoken English, and must be fully computer literate. This post will require you to take on the responsibility for further developing your own Health & Safety education and progression, making full use of the site facilities. In order to be considered for this post you must be legally entitled to live and work in the UK.
