Job Description
To develop business opportunities with existing client base and with new clients in order to Implement the strategic development of the business Regionally and ensure suitable opportunities are identified and progressed.
Key Accountabilities:
Collation and analysis of market information
Dissemination of information to relevant parties
Identification of new clients, Niche Markets and new business opportunities.
Actively build and maintain client and supply chain relationships.
Organise production of business plans, both short and long term taking account of National and local strategy
Production of regular management reports highlighting new leads, current and future prospects and market analysis.
Manage sales leads, monitor and update database records
Promote and maintain effective client relationships.
Organise of functions, both internally and externally
Co-ordination of tenders and proposals.
Production of presentations, documentation and supporting relevant paperwork and brochure information
Actively promote marketing strategy to line management.
Work with and lead the management team to achieve pre-determined targets for enquiries sourced.
To take an active end to end leading management role in the bid process including sales strategy, estimating and proposal / document creation and client presentation
Technical Skills / Knowledge
Ability to analyse and interpret market data and trends
Knowledge of key issues and the positions of key players in relevant sectors including competitors activities
Extensive knowledge of positioning and comparative financial and project performance
Ability to identify and manage members of the client decision making unit
Ability to set and manage appropriate budgets within target
Understanding the LS brand and ability to ensure all communications reflect LS values
Wide knowledge of regulatory and legislative issues regarding products
Ability to recognise commercial risk and opportunity
Excellent working knowledge of IT ie MS Office Suite, MS Project
Extensive knowledge of environmental issues
Ability to prioritise workload
Demonstrable ability to confidently conduct a presentation to external or internal clients
Comprehensive understanding of the specific market sectors including procedures, techniques, procurement routes, strategic alliance partnering and PFI.
A sound commercial awareness with an understanding of the issues influencing clients business and the market in which they operate.
Ideally qualified to a minimum of ONC/HNC in an engineering discipline
Ideally a qualification in marketing would be desirable.
