Principal or Associate Infrastructure Engineer, London

This is an outstanding opportunity to join a recently established and successful consultancy, providing planning and engineering advice to the development industry. The principal or associate infrastructure engineer will join the company at the central London office at a very favourable time in its development. The right individual will join the senior management team, and will have the opportunity to purchase equity in the firm.

The principal or associate infrastructure engineer will be charged with helping to realize land values, through the provision of pre-purchase feasibility assessments, preparation and agreement of foul and surface water drainage strategies, detailed design and procurement of both adoptable and private drainage, off-site requisitions, balancing and Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS), preparation of flood risk assessments to demonstrate compliance with PPG25PPS25, detailed design and approval of off-site (Section 278) and on-site (both private and Section 38) highway works, determination of utility servicing strategies and procurement, contract preparation, tender analysis, project management and site supervision. The successful applicant will take responsibility for developing the existing business, improving technical standards and helping deliver projects to time and budget.

The successful candidate must have strong commercial acumen combined the intelligence and confidence to argue a point well, and proven business development or client interaction experience. The individual will also hold a degree or equivalent in Civil Engineering, and have extensive knowledge in highway or drainage design. Most likely from a consultancy or developer background with a heavy bias on private sector work, the appointee will be well versed in the preparation of drawings for Contract Documents and S278, S104 and S38 Agreements, have a good understanding of AutoCAD, and expert knowledge of Highways Agency and Local Authority design guidance.
