Our Client has topped the league of UK engineering consultancies for the last seven years and has been ranked in the top 10 over the last 12 years.
Our Client is the world's fifth largest consulting engineering and architectural group by turnover and staff. From 1998 to 2006, they have been placed top in Building magazine's Top 250 Consultants survey. They are ranked no. 3 in ENR's league of top global design firms by total global revenue for design services and ranked 14th in ENR's league of Top 20 Non-US construction/programme management firms.
Our Client is a leading International Consultancy that intends to expand the amount of work done from the UK in the Water Operations and Water Management Teams. They are looking to recruit Project Managers to support this expansion. This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced Project Manager with a formal qualification in civil engineering and a background of achieving results. This role is based in the London and / or Surrey offices.
The general purpose of the role is to manage the development and delivery of work; initially the main focus will be on strengthening marketing systems and leading and supporting bids. These are challenging roles that provide a great opportunity for development of management and marketing skills.
The role will have four main areas of responsibility:
» Developing systems and documentation such as project references, brochures and databases of potential projects and partners as well as liaising with external individual consultants and partner organisations.
» Co-ordinating marketing in a particular region and managing and supporting expressions of interest and bids including liaising with local businesses, clients and local partners.
» Working on projects, either providing co-ordination and support from UK or providing professional inputs to projects either in UK or the project country.
» Working on UK projects, either as project manager or providing technical inputs. This is expected to be a small part of the role.
Skills & Attributes:
» Dynamic individual able to work independently but within the formal business management system framework.
» Organised and methodical, with good administrative and planning skills.
» Interest in international work and willing to travel on short term assignments
» Project management, commercial awareness and able to deliver under pressure
» Good inter personal skills, communication and report writing; the role involves a considerable amount of networking and co-ordination
» Some relevant expertise for paid inputs on both international and UK assignments but not someone who’s main interest and skills are technical. This is likely to mean a background in water/wastewater engineering and/or project management.
» The roles are flexible and can be tailored to suit a range of experience. An ambitious person with appropriate amount of experience from graduation could be suitable and would have the opportunity to significantly develop in the role. A more experienced person would also be appropriate and would be expected to have more productive inputs on projects.
