Job Description

Site Engineer. New Build Nursing Home. We currently require an experienced Site Engineer for a new build £4m timber frame nursing home. Construction operations will start with piling operations starting so we need you to come on board, at an early stage, to become acquainted with all the drawings and specifications. Pre-cast beams are to be used extensively throughout, whilst there are considerable numbers of drainage connections to be cast into the ground floor slab. This will be a 2 storey building. Your choice of survey equipment will be accommodated and there will be an extra sum if you supply your own.

The Project involves site clearance, piling and excavation, substantial drainage and associated pipe-work for the many ground floor connections, concrete to the ground floor with additional precast beams, then precast for the upper floor. The building is timber frame so you must have previous timber frame experience in either residential or commercial situations. The end use will see this development exhibit both residential and care support facilities. You will come from an engineering background and will have practical experience, formal training and qualifications or a mixture of both, a minimum of 3 to 5 years relevant site experience, working for either a contractor, a specialist subcontractor in timber frames or a main contractor who controls the construction process or a builder / developer, having worked on projects exceeding £3m.

Current CSCS card and a First Aid certificate would be advantageous, but not obligatory. The site will run initially on a 5 day week. The client has a regular stream of similar projects and further work may follow. Only candidates who are legally entitled to live and work in the country will be considered.
