Temporary Works Design Engineers x 2. Required for 2 new positions in a growing division of this respected contractor. You will probably be an experienced Civil Engineer from a Design or Contracting background with a proven track record in the above. Alternatively an experienced Site or Project Manager seeking a chance to diversify into a Design role may suit the positions.

You should ideally have a good all round background in structural design, whilst applicants with the following experience, knowledge and skills will be suitable:
• BSc/ BEng /HND qualified Civil Engineer
• Ability to design in Steel, RC, Masonry and Timber
• Previous temporary works design experience in formworks, falseworks scaffolding, foundations and ground supports
• Ability to produce detailed calculations and drawings of structural elements
• Minimum 3 years experience in temporary works
• Proficient in Auto-cad
• Capable of meeting deadlines
• Ability to work in a team environment
• Work on own, as required and able to use your own initiative
• Full UK Driving license

The role will involve some of these aspects:
• Managing and designing projects
• Supervising graduate engineers on all types of temporary works projects
• Attending client meetings
• Occasionally demonstrating temporary works procedures as part of in-house training schemes.
• Design and detailing of all temporary works together with the supervision of installation and erection.

Exposure to and experience of temporary works in any of these areas of formwork & falsework design, checking & advising on suitable materials, steel sheet pile cofferdams, military trestling, heavy timbering, formwork and falsework to deep basements, abutments and bridge decks will all be relevant.
