Job Description

Our client is a multidisciplinary consultancy – which enables their engineers and environmental consultants to work in partnership. They are recognised globally and have clients that consist of multinationals, major corporates, government bodies, financial institutions and manufacturers.


Position Description :

You will work within the Northern England UK Soil & Groundwater Group, reporting to the Service Line Coordinate for Human Health Risk Assessment.

Responsibilities:
(1) Implement technical solutions to complex soil and groundwater issues, following best practice and regulatory guidance on a wide variety of projects across the UK.

(2) Assist in Staff development and mentoring, including identifying training needs etc.

(3) Technical auditing of projects for method, quality and compliance.

(4) Assist with business development.

Position Objectives:

(1) Develop human health contaminant methods to support site investigation and remediation teams.

(2) Support the UK Service Lines Coordinator for human health risk assessment.

(3) Contribute to the development of the UK-wide Risk Assessment team.

(4) Work on approximately 70% billable projects, 20% proposal preparation and 10% staff development.

Minimum Requirements :

BSc - Geology, Environmental Science or Engineering Discipline.

MSc (or higher) Hydrogeology, Water Resources or similar Engineering/Numerate Discipline.

Extensive Relevant Experience in the performance, analysis and interpretation of hydrogeological testing including pumping tests and packer testing, as well as, field supervision of drilling, monitoring well installation, soil and groundwater sampling.

Relevant experience ideally should include risk assessment and/or groundwater modelling experience, and an understanding of contaminant behaviour or hydrochemistry.

Must have experience in preparing technical reports including data analysis, calculations and design documentation, as well as good organisational, verbal and written communication skills.
