Job Description

Site Engineer – Groundworks. This is a new project involving minimal demolition, some land clearance / remediation, so an understanding of the technical aspects of both these processes would be an advantage. There will be piling and you will be required to set out for the piling contractor. Moving on to pile caps and traditional ground-works, drainage and ground-beams. On one area of the site there will be a large RC basement with conventional steel frame structures above, fixed on to HD bolts with shuttering for all up-stands and vertical elements, decking and tables.

An Engineer with a broad engineering background capable of organising the Engineering elements of this site through the various phases and the ability to keep daily records. A tertiary level Engineering qualification would be acceptable. Previous experience with one of the recognised RC frame contractors or Groundworks contractors would be preferred. This is a role that would be suitable for a Site or Setting out Engineer seeking to take on a more Senior Engineer’s role, moving into management as Package and Project Engineers thus advancing their careers.

The Contractor is recognised as a successful groundworks and RC frame contractor working in the south of England. You will need good setting out and communication skills, be IT literate, able to liaise with the various statutory bodies involved with this work and above all represent the contractor in a professional manner.

This is a 5 to 6 month project and the contractor is seeking a committed candidate for the role. A 5 or 5.5 day week will operate. Ideally CSCS certified and with a current First Aid certificate, you should be a car driver, though there are local public transport services available.
