Health & Safety Manager. A new position working for a European contractor. Based in Norfolk on a major new development. The role can suit Senior and Intermediate level Health & Safety Professionals.

The Role. This is an opportunity to start at the beginning of a major new build project. We require someone who is extremely well versed in current Health & Safety legislation. The requirement initially is to evaluate and modify the Method Statements and Health & Safety plans that the Contractor has in place to ensure that they meet the 2007 CDM regulations. This will then move on to working with the Contractor as the work progresses and taking an active “hands on” role in the field. Monitoring and advising the main Contractor on the Health & Safety procedures that need to be in place and the daily, weekly and monthly reports and checks that need to be performed and audited. The will well develop so that the initial Health & Safety Professional takes on additional staff to assist and take over sections and tasks.

The Project. At £330m this is a substantial development extending over a 35 hectare site. The bulk of the demolition has already been completed, though there are still some buildings standing that will ultimately be removed. The structures will involve large elements of pre-cast concrete and substantial areas of cladding and curtain walling. The M&E package is worth over £100m. Additionally there will be many kilometres of services, extensive areas of drainage, external hard and soft landscaping plus associated works.

The Company. A European based contractor that operates internationally. The role may require visits to Europe, though you will be based at Kings Lynn.

Package. The Contractor is equally prepared to consider an applicant who wishes to take up a long term Contract or a Permanent appointment. Salary is open to discussion based on your level of skill and competence. Only candidates who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered for the position.
