QUANTITY SURVEYOR – Intermediate. Due to the recent award of additional Housing Association new build contracts this expanding residential developer / builder requires an additional Quantity Surveyor to assist in the commercial aspects in their annual turnover of some 200 properties. To work on projects in Kent and south-east London, working for a company with over 15 years experience in the industry. Project values range from £1 to £15m working in both the Private & Public sectors on new build and refurbishment schemes.

The project sizes vary from 15 to 65 units. An understanding of negotiating and letting packages on new residential blocks including cladding, new windows, kitchens and bathrooms and M & E Services would be advantageous. Contracts are underway in some instances, with other starts on site confirmed on an ongoing basis for 2008.

Head Office Based:

You should be a forward thinking, self motivated, intermediate QS. Astute, with a strong commercial sense and working towards a more senior position. Excellent communication skills are essential. Ideally you are degree qualified with a minimum of 2 years post qualification experience, and will have been working in a similar environment, or main contracting background. The position is varied and will require your involvement in many aspects of the development process, which includes planning, design, subcontract procurement and client liaison.

Preferably living in South London, ideally with experience working on new build Housing Association projects, you should be enthusiastic and commercially aware.
Head Office based and reporting to the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will also be required to work from the client’s site offices from time to time. The successful person must be a good communicator, enjoy working within a team environment and will be fully involved in a variety of commercial aspects of the project.
