Job Description

Engineer for Earthworks, Drainage and Infrastructure. On a busy new site the work involves Drainage, Groundworks and Infrastructure on a new build commercial development. This is a new site and the site is currently being cleared with an Engineering start date mid to end November. This is an additional role to supplement the contractor’s own Engineer, where you will have your own section as this site is expanding and there will be a busy time ahead.

This project involves extensive Civils and Infrastructure works for new warehouses and one of the primary requirements is for someone who is capable of accurately setting out for topsoil strip, earth bunds, drainage, excavation, infrastructure and drainage. You will be site based in the Contractors’ site offices and will be expected to coordinate with the Site Manager organising day to day operations and contributing to weekly programmes and material deliveries.

An Engineering background will be essential and a formal Engineering qualification would be preferred, though the ability to read drawings and schedules, accurately transferring this information to site is be essential. Clear written and oral communication is required.

The civil engineering division offers expert services in major earthmoving projects, especially those involving remediation, roads and infrastructure, complex substructures and deep basements, drainage, bridges, main frames and hard landscaping.
Freelance opportunity for a few months, with good hours and a permanent option later if desired, this is a good opportunity to get involved in a long term project at the early stages and to establish yourself as an integral part of the team.
