Assistant Quantity Surveyor. The Company specialise in finding and reclaiming sites, identifying the full potential, based on its size shape, accessibility and immediate surroundings, always taking into account the local planning authority’s housing policy.
We are looking to recruit an Assistant Surveyor to work within a team on construction projects. You will be expected to work within a team consisting of Construction Director, Contracts Manager, and Surveyor, and liaise with key stakeholders, subcontractors, and Statutory Authorities.
You will be responsible for assisting with the project design development planning and preparation of construction documents, liaison with client, stakeholders, local authorities, consultants, sub contractors, and statutory bodies. You will assist in site inspections, valuations, management of bid preparation, collation, procurement, tender, and contract processes and documents, and monitoring of quality assurance procedures and compliance.
The successful applicant will be qualified to Bachelor’s degree level (Quantity Surveying, Construction Management), with at least 1 years’ experience in quantity surveying project management within a property/construction organisation.
You will need to demonstrate the ability to work in a close relationship with clients and other members of project teams and enjoy working in a busy and demanding environment. You must be able to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team and show clear attention to detail. Good interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Strong computer skills are required, as the majority of the work is office based, experience of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is crucial. Clean driving licence required as you will be expected to travel for site visits.

Location - Croydon, Surrey
Purpose:
• The Assistant Surveyor is responsible for assisting with the project design, development planning, and preparation of construction documents in the daily running of construction projects.
• The role requires liaison with client, stakeholders, local authorities, consultants, sub contractors, and statutory bodies.
• The Assistant Surveyor is involved in assisting in site inspections, valuations, management of bid preparation, collation, procurement, tender, and contract processes and documents, and monitoring of quality assurance procedures and compliance.
Duties:
• Working within a team as detailed above in the daily running of a construction project
• Preparation of monthly valuations for approval by client
• Site Inspection
• Sub-Contractor claim evaluation and payment
• Sending Sub-contractor packages for pricing and evaluating before placement of order
• Negotiation, evaluation, and agreement of various sub-contractor order before order placement
• Measurement in accordance with standard method of measurement
• Bill of quantity production for tendering purposes
• Agreement of variation orders and evaluation
• Assisting with project design development planning and the preparation of construction documents
• Aiding in the co-ordination of information to satisfy planning and building regulation requirements
• Monitoring of quality assurance procedures and compliance
• Assisting with project based assignments, key clients, and other business initiatives to budget and client brief
• Providing support for presentations to client management, client teams, and other stakeholders
• Liaison with client, stakeholders, local authorities, consultants, sub contractors
• Attending monthly progress meeting on site
• Liaising with Statutory Authorities
Person Specification
• Bachelor's degree (Quantity Surveying, Construction Management)
• Minimum 1 years’ experience in quantity surveying project management within a property/construction organisation
