SITE ENGINEER – GROUNDWORKS & RC FRAME. Immediate requirement for a suitably experienced setting out Engineer to join the excellent team on this new project. Currently working on phase one in the piling and excavation stages, as it comes out of the ground you will be in place to take on further duties and responsibilities as the project moves into the RC basement and frame phases.

The project involves extensive piling, basement excavation, cores and floors to multiple storey levels on linked structures, moving on to the external envelope, and in some areas the fit out. The end use will see this development exhibit residential, commercial and support facilities.

With an engineering background with formal training to tertiary level and qualifications in Civil Engineering and probably a minimum of 2 - 3 years relevant site experience, having worked for either a groundworks contractor, an RC frame contractor or a main contractor who controls the construction process or a builder / developer. Your experience should preferably have been on larger projects exceeding £ 5 - 10m.

We are looking for an Engineer who is able to take on the responsibility and challenges that are found on a busy site, and has the initiative to think and forward plan. You must be fully conversant with current Engineering equipment, able to read and interpret drawings, set out accurately as well as clearly conveying information to the carpenters, fixers and direct labour. Good oral and written communication is essential as is the ability to maintain accurate and comprehensive records of site activities.

Current CSCS card and a First Aid certificate would be advantageous, but not obligatory. The site runs on a 5 ½ day week. The option is available for either a contract or a permanent role, and the contractor has a number of other schemes underway in this vicinity, so continuity of work is available. Permission to legally live and work in the UK is essential.
