Job Description

Document Controller. An excellent opportunity to join an influential developer.

The Client has been an influential leader in urban development and regeneration
for over 20 years. With headquarters in London, the company focuses its expertise
on three key areas: design and build projects, property acquisition and
investment handling.

A diverse portfolio comprises residential housing schemes, retail-related
investment projects, commercial and office developments and projects in the
leisure and tourist sector. The company is respected for the quality of its
developments, the speed of their execution and their profitability.

The Team comprising developer, interior designers, architects, contractors,
site managers, planning consultants and quantity surveyors are all involved
from the very start of the process, and regular meetings ensure that all
parties are constantly aware of their role in the development’s
progress. Senior management involvement and consistency of the core team of
architects lead to effective communication and swift decision-making.

Docklands. In 1992 they established a division in the UK, to take advantage of the London property market emerging from recession. It began constructing residential
developments targeted specifically at commuters and City workers on sites
in the East End of London. With innovative developments they had constructed and sold over 600 apartments by 1995.

Your Role is responsible for the efficient and timely provision of document control
support in a challenging environment. This role is foreseen to contribute to the internal and external relationships within our Clients organisation that is supportive of organisational goals and contributes to organisational effectiveness.

Reporting to the Senior Document Controller, this position operates in a constantly
changing environment with competing pressures from multiple deadlines and
projects. The successful applicant must demonstrate flexibility and creativity in delivering solutions tailored to the needs of the project.

Specifically you will ultimately be responsible for:
• Contributing to the processing of both incoming & outgoing documentation in a timely manner
• Maintaining hardcopies
• Handing over to Corporate Document Control and printing of master copies for focal point signature
• Ensuring the timely turn around of documentation issued internally or received externally
• Liaison between the client’s management and internal management covering all areas of Document Control
• Editing, Creating and issuing sketches/ drawings using Auto CAD
• Applying experience and knowledge about the use of drawings and data and giving priority to expediting effort on critical matters
• Providing support & training to co-workers in document control to ensure 100% accuracy
• Preparing project documentation close out of projects
• Preparing Project documentation for archive
• Collating and organise documents as required for site reports & for issue of various tender packages.

Requirements.
• Ideally a Graduate with relevant experience in engineering, building, architecture or construction in the built environment
• IT proficient - Auto CAD skills essential
• You will be able to maintain document change control
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Suite
• Good oral and written communication skills at all levels within the organisation and with external clients
• Ability to develop skills as required and a willingness to learn

Benefits
A salary of £18,000 to £20,000 is offered with the chance to work for a
progressive company on some of London’s major projects.
