Job Description
An excellant opportunity has arisen for you to work in a wholly independent, employee-owned company with 10,000 staff, turnover of £600 million and work in 100 countries for public and private sector customers world-wide.
The Infrastructure Team is involved in a wide range of projects including redevelopment and refurbishment, ranging from site appraisal and feasibility studies to design and supervision of multi-use developments.
Due to rapid expansion they are looking for public utilities/infrastructure engineers.
Our engineers are the backbone of project teams either developing towards or taking on the role of project managers/team leaders. Typically, they are enthusiastic, ambitious, outward facing, have good interpersonal skills, are self-motivated and have a keen desire to for technical and personal development.
This role will provide excellent opportunities for career development as well as for personally contributing to the future growth of the company.
Key elements of the role include:
· Client and utility company liaison
· Interpretation and application of engineering and technical standards
· Development of briefs for technical and other studies
· Direct input and technical advice to reports
· Review/design of proposed utility company diversions from concept to detailed design
· Preparation of design, studies, specifications and reports
· Actively participating in delivery of success projects
· Assisting in delivery of projects which meet quality standards and procedures
· Interfacing with other professionals and authorities
· Communicating professionally, effectively and clearly both verbally and in writing
· Contributing to management and professional activities
· Being a pro-active team member
Essential academic, professional qualifications and experience:
· HNC Civil Engineering to MSc Civil Engineering
· Experience of similar major public utility coordination and diversion projects in UK
· Experience of liaison and negotiation with Utility companies (EDF, Thames Water, BT)
· Conceptual engineering design and problem solving of technical issues
