Design Manager – Main Contractor - Berkshire

A leading main contractor in the UK is currently looking for a Design Manager for a £32 million new school in West Berkshire. This respected contractor, who has a house hold name, has been appointed at the feasibility stage to take the project all the way through to completion, which is due by February 2008.

The Design Managers future projects will be with in London & the South East, with project values ranging from £10 million - £80 million and with in the following sectors: commercial office, education, hotel, residential and retail.

The successful Design Manager's duties will include:

•Set design deliverables for each consultant and CDP contractor and schedule drawings, specifications and other design information required for construction.
•Prepare design programme in conjunction with PM and consultants and CDP contractors.
•Finalise and agree the IRS with design team and CDP contractors at the outset of the project
•For D&B identify and agree drawings/samples for Client satisfaction.
•For D&B produce a programme of critical dates for Client approvals.
•Attend/Chair design team meetings as necessary during contract.
•Prepare design section of project reports.
•Monitor and report on design progress, statutory approvals, outstanding information required, subcontractor design, environmental/CDM issues.

The Ideal Design Manager will have a stable working history with main contractors, and have experience working with in the UK. The Design Manager will have a history of completing designs successfully.
