Our client has a vacancy for a key member within a team of over 25 highway engineers based within their Civil Engineering department. The successful applicant must be able to work on their own initiative and under pressure when necessary. With at least 3 years’ post graduate experience the successful candidate will be chartered or near chartered and have a detailed knowledge of the Highways Agency’s design manual for roads, bridges and the specification for highway works including drainage, pavements, lighting and communication systems. They are looking for a good team player with strong and proven management skills within a multi-disciplinary environment.

You will be expected to lead and develop small teams of Engineers, Technicians and Graduates in preparing design solutions for highway schemes at preliminary, tender, and detailed design stages of the project. As team leader you will have programme and financial responsibility for all elements of your work.

• Proven management skills and experience.
• At least 3 years’ relevant post graduate experience.
• Thorough understanding of UK highway design principles and specifications.
• Experienced in the detailed design of highways under Design & Build, DBFO or ECI conditions.
• The successful candidate must have a Civil Engineering related Degree
