Job Description

Site Manager / Finishing Foreman – Housing. Additional live requirement for an established construction company based near Croydon. The project is situated in Orpington and will take 4 – 6 months.

Requirement. We are looking for a Site Manager / Finishing Foreman who would be totally responsible for finishing 19 units in a residential development. The project, which is roofed with the windows being installed will have all the fit out and decoration to oversee as well as all the externals.

The Project. 19 units in timber frame providing decent flats with associated infrastructure for a local housing association. Ground floor basement car parking with accommodation on the ground and upper floors. Traditional construction methods following on from the timber frames to incorporate masonry and pre-cast floor slabs. You will take the project through to completion and handover to the client.

Site Manager / Finishing Foreman. You will ideally have a background in timber frame, residential developments, either working alone or as a number 2 on a larger scheme. Coming from a trades or technical background you will probably have a minimum of 4 to 6 years site experience, have worked on a number of similar projects and be capable of taking full charge of the site, reporting to a visiting Contracts Manager.

Qualifications. Ideally tertiary or trade certificated, 5 day CITB Site Manager trained, CSCS carded and a current First Aid qualification.

The Company. Involved in a mix of social and private housing, in new build and refurbishment sectors, specialise in finding and reclaiming sites, identifying their full potential, based on their size, shape, accessibility and immediate surroundings, always taking into account the local planning authority's housing policy. They have Design & Build capability embracing a wide range of types and styles of development, including luxury executive homes, affordable housing and special housing for the disabled and put together complete site development packages with planning consent which maximise the site value and compliment the local environment.

Conditions. Your working hours would generally be 0800 to 1700 on a 5 day week.
The position is available as a freelance or permanent post and the remuneration is negotiable, based on experience. The company work hard to retain their staff, and you will be joining a friendly company. Only applicants who are legally permitted to live and work in the UK will be considered.
