Job Description

Civil Engineer / Surveyor. Working in and around the Luton area you will be involved in minor and medium sized civils schemes for a reputable contractor. The work is at schools, working during the holidays, and the work includes overhauling and refurbishing area that includes paving, car park modifications, drainage, tree planters, kerb lines and play areas. You will need to be able to carry out basic setting out duties, oversee the nominated contractors, keeping good daily records of works completed and liaise with the main contractor’s agent.

Roads & Highways experience and knowledge ideally required for this freelance position. You should be conversant with Roads, Highway and Pavement construction, with first hand knowledge of the processes involved and the sequence of construction that is entailed. Projects experience could include both hard and soft landscaping.

Formally Qualified in the Surveying or Civil Engineering field to Degree or Diploma level, you will be able to read and interpret drawings, be able to clearly and accurately communicate this information. If you are currently seeking to take on more responsibility than your present role allows this job may suit you. You will need to be a car driver, with your own vehicle.
