Carpentry Foremen. Established Contractor requires suitably experienced Carpentry Foremen to oversee the 1st and 2nd fix workmanship on several large projects that are starting up in the City and Docklands areas.

Working on multi-storey residential RC frames your involvement will start as the RC frames are concreted. These are permanent positions and have come about through the contractor successfully negotiating work with the end clients / developers that allows them to forward plan for the next few years.

Your experience will show time spent on the tools, moving on to a charge hand’s role and then on to a Foreman’s role. A formal apprenticeship would be an advantage, but not essential. Practical experience in organising and supervising a number of carpenters, working on different floors and areas at all stages of the job will be essential.

Your role would be similar to a Site Manager’s post, but the emphasis would be on the practical work in the field, pushing the job with minimal paperwork, though you would need to be able to record daily events, labour allocations and similar events.

The Company is a reputable London based contractor that has steadily grown over the years working to maintain its reputation with both the clients and also their directly employed workforce.

The projects are mainly large residential schemes with mixed private and affordable housing with project values ranging from £14m to £35m plus. Currently contracts range from projects that have completed the RC to jobs that are coming out of the ground.

Salaries will reflect your experience and will ensure that you are suitably rewarded for your efforts and workmanship. A self employed option may be available if relevant. Only candidates who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered. References will also be required.
