Quantity Surveyor, Build. To work on a £6m contract starting in mid summer, this is an excellent freelance opportunity to work on a new 80 week programmed project.
The project is part of a larger development and will offer excellent facilities once the development is completed.

The Contractor has a wealth of experience built up over 50 years and a directly employed labour force of over 400. Having successfully worked on an enabling works package they have now won the next phase and require a committed Quantity Surveyor to join on a freelance / contract basis, as their staff Quantity Surveyors are overstretched with their current workload of other projects.

Your role will comprise identifying and obtaining prices from sub contractors to fulfil the Steel, RC, Cladding and Roofing elements of the scheme. Working closely with the Project Director you will be given considerable responsibility in selecting and supervising the relevant sub contractors. During the life of the project you will be expected to maintain a commercial overview at all times and will take the job through to final account stage.

Qualifications to tertiary level in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management with a commercial bias would be ideal, though practical experience in working for a company such as LaingO’Rourke, Kier or McAlpine would be equally suitable.

Duration. The project is programmed to run for 80 weeks and your role would involve setting up the various packages as well as taking the project through to final account stage. Whilst the position is offered on a freelance basis the option is open for a permanent role if desired. You would be site based for the duration.

Experience & Training. The combination of many years of experience and extensive C.I.T.B and in-house training means that the Company's supervisory staff and workforce are second to none in terms of skill and capability. As such the subcontractors selected would be expected to meet stringent Health & Safety requirements and this will reflect your selection. Only candidates who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered.
