Senior Engineers x 2 - RC and structures, required for a Contractor who is winning and starting work on additional projects and has 2 further specific jobs that will require extra engineering input at a Senior level.

The contractor has a wealth of experience in the RC market and is winning projects valued from £1.5 to £4m. Having worked on RC frame projects, for either specialist frame contractors or reputable main contractors, you will be capable of working with and deputising for the Project Manager to represent the Contractor in a technically sound and professional manner.

Their area of work covers Birmingham and the Midlands, with another arm of the company working around Bristol and south Wales. The work involved is the initial groundworks followed by predominantly RC frame work with elements of pre-cast for installed items.

The schemes are generally similar in that they comprise traditional groundworks starting with excavation, moving on through piling, drainage, sub-structure and super-structure RC. In some cases steel frames may be utilised for the upper stories and for the atrium display areas. The schemes are predominantly commercial comprising multi-storey structures over single and double basements.

Senior Engineers with practical experience, able to provide the site setting out Engineers with accurate information, so that they are able to stay ahead of the workforce, are sought. Standard QA procedures will be in place and your duties will include assisting with the setting out as required, following up with the submission of as-builts, checking for design queries, maintaining the site diary, raising RFI’s, cubing up for concrete, supervising pours and generally ensuring that the sites proceed as smoothly and satisfactorily as possible. This is a role that requires a good level of communication and the ability to work with the Site Foremen to plan ahead.

Formal Engineering qualifications to tertiary level are sought, though candidates with a good practical knowledge and background will also be considered. Additional relevant ongoing training and education may be possible for those wishing to further their professional qualifications.
