Foreman / Site Manager – Structural refurbishment. Positive approach required to fill this post. Structural alterations in an existing building will entail the installation of structural steel to strengthen and support the existing fabric.

This project is a £1m package involving “cut and carve” work to allow the building to be physically modified. Cutting openings throughout the existing building to allow for the insertion of structural steel members, provision of load bearing lintels and additional supports.

Your role will be to lead and motivate the direct labour force to carry out this work in a safe and secure way, ensuring that Health & Safety guidelines are adhered to. There will be a £5 to 6m. Builders Works Package to follow on from this work.

A trades or Engineering background will be equally acceptable as long as you can demonstrate experience in the installation of structural steel in an existing building, are able to read and interpret drawings, have a good understanding of Health & Safety, are capable of organising a workforce, have good oral communication skills, can keep daily records and carry out basic administrative tasks.

The Contractor has a large number of projects either underway, approximately 45 in the London area, with another 12 to 15 kicking off in the next 3 to 4 months. Project values range from £500k packages to £30m plus turnkey schemes.

Excellent financial rewards are available as either a staff member or initially as a freelancer. Ideally CSCS carded, with the CITB 5 day certificate and a proven track history.
