Job Description

Working for a medium sized Civils contractor this position will suit someone with some practical site experience and an HND or similar qualification, where there is an opportunity to have a degree of autonomy, whilst having an experienced Senior Estimator to support you. This will be a Head Office based role.

The company is a multi-disciplined construction contractor and their work includes:
Civil Engineering
Surfacing
Highway Maintenance
Paving
Street Cleansing
Construction Waste Recycling
Bridge and structure maintenance and repair works
Building maintenance and repair works

They are members of the British Safety Council, the Civil Engineering Contractors’ Association and the Quarry Products Association and also BSI registered for their environmental and quality management.

The work is generally in the minor civils end of the market, and they have taken on a number of rolling contracts catering for Term Maintenance on the civils side, as well as competitively tendering for work in the open market.

You will have ideally have a minimum of 1 to 2 years site experience since qualifying / graduating, and have a recognised construction related qualification. Experience with either a main contractor or a sub-contractor will be equally relevant so long as you have a good understanding of the civils elements of construction. Excellent IT skills will be needed. A good working knowledge of CAD may be advantageous. A more senior candidate may suit so long as you possess the minimum skills listed.

The work will generally be based on a 5 day working week, though weekend work may be required in certain situations. Only candidates who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered.
